Vic’s Auto Body was founded by Vic Bosak in 1950. Vic’s business was initially located on 30th and Washington in Minneapolis, MN and remained at this location until moving to Brooklyn Park, MN 25 years later. Mark Bolsen took over Vic’s in 1991 and remembers Vic as a caring man, dedicated to serving his family, friends, and clients to the best of his ability. Vic would often stop by the shop after his retirement to greet old customers with his infectious positivity.

Jim Smith founded Jim’s Auto Body in 1968, located on Central Avenue in North East Minneapolis, MN. Jim found his work to be a steady source of motivation to continuously improve. He made a conscious attempt to fuel his passion by challenging himself to learn new skills to help him perform better as a repairman, teacher, and leader of his company. He took pride in teaching his staff how to perform the finest auto repair processes in order to become the go-to business for all auto body repair needs. Jim retired 23 years after opening, and his son, Tom, took over the family business in 1991. After moving to bigger location in Blaine, MN, Tom settled Jim’s Auto Body Repair in Brooklyn Park, MN.

In 2016, Vic’s Auto Body and Jim’s Auto Body merged to become Vic’s & Jim’s Collision Center, and Tom Smith remains the owner. Tom holds to many business philosophies, but at the core of his goals, as owner, is to cultivate and produce productive communication. Tom prides himself in making sure staff and customers have the correct information, because positive, productive communication drives results. Tom knows that many business issues stem from poor communication, so he feels a responsibility to keep everyone in the know. Such skills have helped increase Vic’s & Jim’s Collision Center’s personal client retention rate in the auto body repair business every year, and helped Tom’s team earn 100% customer satisfaction rates.
